Our customers' data is processed and stored within the continental United States, but not in our facility. Our technology partner deploys the best-of-breed data center with a robust data back-up and replication in their secure secondary data center in another part of the country.
Not only will your information be redundantly secured on a real-time basis, there are robust disaster recovery procedures in place at all times in case of a natural disaster or unauthorized access.
Many of these procedures are very closely held within our policies and procedures handbooks while many other elements of these plans are outlined in our SAS 70 Type II certification documentation.
What is a SAS 70 Type II Certification?
The Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) is a widely recognized auditing statement put forth by the Auditing Standards Board as designated by the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts (AICPA).
The audit process examines and tests the characteristics of internal controls for service organizations. The audit is necessary for service providers to demonstrate that they have adequate controls and safeguards when hosting or processing data belonging to their customers. A Type II report includes a section on the service auditor’s opinion on how effective the controls operated under the period of review.
